My name is Forrest. I am an artist and illustrator from Pittsburgh, PA.

I view my work as a Sisyphean call to archive every idea I’ve ever had in the time between my 9 to 5 and sleep. If I could crack my head open Terry Gilliam-style and pour it on a sheet of paper, I would. But I can’t, so instead I draw. And paint. And print. I aim to create pieces that inspires self reflection and exploration of the weird, complex, unsettling reality of being human. My work invites the viewer to come closer, gaze into, and sit with the mess.

I have a deep appreciation for the urge to create no matter what. To find it during the commute and on lunch breaks. The lull between sets at a show. The cumulative hours spent waiting for a friend to arrive, or a client to respond, or the receptionist to call your name. I’ve drawn my whole life. I’ve drawn while working full time as a dishwasher, cook, server, retail worker, warehouse picker, vendor manager, and clinical laboratory assistant. When I die, I will probably be drawing.

I am always working on something, but I love to drop everything for a prompt.
